Passport to Beauty ....aka Party Hardy!!
Apparently, Dillard's has this annual big bash that they do in the beauty department. My sisters thought this would be a ton of fun to attend this year. I mean, I understand that we have pretty much reached our ultimate beauty, but we are open minded.
We met on a wet and rainy night in Boise to check out the doings and decided to case the joint first so we knew where to hit for specials and the promised gifts, raffles and finger foods. We had to make sure that our names were entered for the drawings because surely one or all of us was destined to win SOMEthing! Entry forms completed, we were free to continue our reconnaissance.
We fast walked past the fragrance counters with their spritzing and spraying and slowly moved beyond the soaps and lotions. And then we were hooked .... MAKEUP!!!
We found a really nice gal named Britny who, at Queen of Everything's urging, helped me find eyebrows and how to make them "normal" and eyeliner. It's always fun to have someone else do your makeup ... really.
Then it was time for QofE to take her place in the "throne". Looking for new colors, makeup tips, etc, Britny did her magic and only was helped once by Queen Mother. (And, I must say, QM was correct!!)
Queen Mother didn't participate in any fun new decorations on her face, but she did find a fancy new face cream!!
And then came the fun part .... dinner with my sisters!! After taking into account the options at the mall, we settled on the Cheesecake Factory. We perused the menu (which seriously, is ridiculously ginormous) and finally settled on appetizers. Shared three ways, we enjoyed crispy crab cakes, crispy Cuban rolls and lettuce wraps. We won't discuss the alcohol portion of the night. Although, at one point, the heated, wet towels that were brought out for our fingers had dripped on the table and I had to explain that I was NOT a nursing mother.....
From there we waddled our way back to Dillards to finalize our purchases and to check out the finger food. I don’t know who ever decided to advertise it as finger food, but seriously, cupcakes and fortune cookies??? I know, right? We would have starved to death had we not hit up the restaurant earlier....oh, did I mention there was tiramisu involved?
All in all it was great fun. We couldn’t remember how many years it had been since the three of us shopped together at a mall, but we hope to repeat the experience soon, making new memories and new secrets to be kept!!!
